SUBJECT:  WORLD MINI GRAND PRIX MOVING TO MESQUITE in 2010

The original and oldest national motocross event for amateurs and pros is moving.

The 39th Annual NMA World Mini Grand Prix is moving 65 miles north on I-15 to Mesquite, Nevada.  After the past 18 years in the Las Vegas area, the World Mini Grand Prix is moving to a new location. The 2010 event will be presented April 12 through April 18.

The Mesquite MX Park is an excellent location with great terrain, dirt and facilities and will be highlighted by a new special World Mini Grand Prix motocross course.

There will be ample parking at the track for camping, vendors and sponsors.  For those who do not stay at the facility, the city of Mesquite offers lodging at the major hotel-casino properties as well as a dozen or more local motels at very reasonable rates.

“We look forward to this positive change for the World Mini Grand Prix, our participants and sponsors” said Ron Henricksen, president of NMA.

I thought I would pass along pics of my 05 CRF250X.  Once I finished the 1986 retro 230F project you helped me out with, I thought I would take my other Honda back to the 1990s.  As mentioned in my previous email, I owned a 96 CR with 1-800-COLLECT  graphics and sold it back in 03.  I was a little bummed to see it go since I was a fan of the 1-800 look.  As silly as it sounds, if I could have kept once piece of that bike to re-use it would have been those graphics.

In fact, I had a couple of leftover 1995 1-800 Collect rear fender kits and applied a set to my 250X (third pic) a few years back for purely nostalgic reasons.  Your 1-800 kit gave me back my bike.  I even have my old 1-800 cross bar back on the bike and (although not pictured) I still have my 1-800 Fox jerseys, chest protector, and assorted motocross gear.  Even though I prefer to joyride with my kids as opposed to race, I still run my old number on the bike.

To say I am pleased with how both bikes turned out would be an understatement.  Your company gave my bikes the look of the Honda I have always wanted to own (retro 1980s works bike) and the bike that gave me a lot of great motocross memories of the 1990s (1-800 kit).

Thanks for remembering how bikes used to look.

Dear Matt and Nick-

Below are some recent pics of the CRF230 that you made a seat cover and tank decals for.  As you can tell, I used my autographed David Bailey poster (in the first pic) as my starting base.  I’m one of those guys that has a box full of various stickers, graphics kits, and obscure logos- thus, please excuse some of the other brands you may see on the bike.  I handmade the number plates from leftover sheets of vinyl and the rear fender was an old Honda (1995) 1-800-Collect bought on clearance.  Check out the tank shroud- I put your decal on first than re-traced the stock sticker (which I peeled off in one piece).  I pressed it against a large sheet of paper, cut out the pattern, placed your (back side of the Honda wing decal) then retraced with a red background sheet.  Thus, it’s a three piece sticker.

Thank you so much for making a seat cover and tank decals for this bike.  For over a year I have been looking for a company to make a blue seat from my bike.  I have always been a big fan of David Bailey’s works bikes and the 230 looks more like a 1980s bike.  Aside from the BBR triple clamps, linkage, and springs, this bike is basically stock but I have had a few lookers based on the cosmetic changes.

I have been so impressed with Throttle Jockey products that I recently purchased your 1995 Honda 1-800- kit from my CRF250X.  I had a 1996 CR with the 1-800-COLLECT logos and miss that bike.  Because of your company I get to have it back (4 stroke style)

Thanks again- you guys are awesome at customer service.
